Hi Robert,

I’m working on an updated 3rdParty package.
Therefore you can find attached an update cmake file to find the current stable release off freetype (2.7).

Please integrate it into trunk to make auto detection of the 3rdParty package working again.

Thanks,
Torben

Hi Torben,

I've just done a first pass review and am surprised that the
freetypeVersionNumber that you've added is freetype27 while all the
previous ones were in the hundreds. I would have expected 270 given
how the sequence has worked in the past. Is this something that the
freeytype team went for?

Robert.

Hi Robert,

For some reason they decided to call the release not 2.7, not 2.7.0 as expected. Im not sure whether they did that on purpose or by mistake. I did not rename the compiled libraries. I think it is best to stick as close as possible to the default names. Therefore I added the 27 with only two digits..

Thanks,
Torben

Hi Torben,

Thanks for the explanation. What is the reason for the removal of the

Quote:
SET(${DEPNAME}_LIBRARIES debug ${${DEPNAME}_LIBRARY_DEBUG} optimized ${${DEPNAME}_LIBRARY} )

Line?

Robert.

Hi Torben,

I have merged the freetype27 addition to git master and
OpenSceneGraph-3.4 branch.

I haven't merged the removal of the SET(${DEPNAME}_LIBRARIES debug
${${DEPNAME}_LIBRARY_DEBUG} optimized ${${DEPNAME}_LIBRARY} ) as I'm
not clear on why this has been removed. We can merged that separately
if required.

Robert.

that removal was not on purpose, thanks fort he correction.

I assume that happened since I used still the SVN repo - it seems I was too long away..

Anyway, thanks for the quick merge.

The SVN repo is not maintained. I guess it might be time to removal
it in case people assume it's up to date.

I believe it's possible to use svn with github.

Robert.

Hi Robert,

No worries, I switched to github immediately. It took only some fails on my
side to realize that SVN is not longer dev master... :)

Is it still recommended to send in whole file contributions, or are git
PullRequests also acceptable?

Thanks,
Torben

I can manage both. PR's are better for uncontroversial changes, and I
can create branches for more complex ones.

Ok thanks!

OSG compiles, maybe I will contact you for further changes to make OSG
compatible with the newest set of stables libraries..

May I rise your attention to one issue I posted?

I'm confused, I replied to your post and then you replied to me that
you were going to look into it further, so I'm not sure how I can
raise my attention.

We are talking about a link error here, the plugin is likely
compatible, it's just the gif team have added a dependency that their
own lib doesn't pull in so pushes this on to users. It may be that
CMake isn't aware of this yet, it could be some error in the giflib
build or it could be a missing lib definition on the OSG side. I
don't know what this might be. An online search for reallocarray only
pulled up references to FreeBSD.

Robert.
