HI Rajani,

The error looks like the CMake has told the OSG that is has found
freetype but for some reason the libs is has directed the OSG to use
for freetype aren't available for some reason. Something odds has
happen here as I and others have been using Ubuntu+Kubunut including
12.04 without issues with freetype. How did you go about installing
freetype and it's dev headers?

To see what the FindFreetype.cmake has picked up for freetype have a
look at the freetype entries it has found by using ccmake . on the
command line then looking through to the FREETYPE_* entries.

Robert.

The image shows an error about a "-loptimized" library not found.

This is likely because of some incorrect configuration settings. Please
show the configuration steps you issued.

Please stop screen capture, it's repulsive, prefer copy/paste blocks (code markup)

try
apt-get build-dep openscenegraph
purge CMakeCache and all CMakeFiles
restart build

Hope it helps

After screenshot decription there are strange ; characters in your linker command (there shouldn't be ; betwen optimized and the lib)...So my initial guess may be wrong ... but the advice is what I would do anyway (it don't harm to be clean)
After thoughts, check your cmake installation:
- check if there are ; in $SOG_ROOT/CMakeModules/FindFreeType.cmake
- check the select_library_configurations in shared/Modules/SelectLibraryConfigurations.cmake if there are ; its bad sign
