Feature testing and examples in separate directory?

Hi,

the examples directory began to get very populated.
Does anyone have arguments against a separation between unitary feature tests and examples?
It would be a first step toward two base interface (example and test) and two main executables (osg_testing and osg_example_viewer)

Thank you!

Cheers,
Julien

Hi Julien,

We already have a applications and examples directory. All the
examples serve as a code examples and tests so I don't think there is
an natural division to break the examples directory in two.

Hi Robert
This idea came from the fact that each time I add a feature I add an associated example (i'm creating one from BindImageTexture to test all cases)...
It can become large with time and these examples aren't demos like other examples that use feature in a particular context.
If we accept the typology
a test is a unique feature test
a example is a demo (not mature enough to be applications)
an application is a mature (example)

Then the division makes sense...

And further if we accept this division we can think of a validation application that launch sequentially feature tests to validate osg on particulars users configurations (OS/proc/driver/HW..)
This "validation application" would then be very usefull for user to diagnose non trivial issues ....

But that just my thoughts...
