osgEarth - Could not find the .curl plugin
Reply with quote

Hi,

after installing osgEarth (ubuntu) I want to run some examples but I'm getting only a blue screen. Terminal writes:

Warning: Could not find the .curl plugin to read from server.

- I have OSG installed
- following packages also installed 'curl, 'php5-curl'

Please ...any ideas will be more than helpful.

Thank you!

Cheers,
miroslav[/code]

Hi,

look for a libcurl*-dev package and install that. The -dev packages
contain the header files etc to build software that uses the library.

thanks...unfortunately I have all of them installed. There is only one libcurl4-openssl-dev but it is 'fighting' (can not be installed both together) with libcurl4-gnutils-dev (this I have installed). I have tried to install the other but it didn't help.... ;o(

Hi,

you will then need to recompile osgEarth.

On Debian I have libcurl4-gnutls-dev. How did you install OSG itself? Go
check in your osgPlugins directory if you have osgdb_curl.so.
